Sledge Movement System video now available

In July 2013 AMS began adding video content to our website. This provided a highly visual way for aircraft recovery teams and related industry experts to view AMS’s aircraft recovery equipment (and training facility).

We’ve now added our latest (and 10th) video to the AMS You Tube Channel.

We’d noticed almost 3,500 people had viewed the Aircraft Lifting & Recovery Demonstration video we produced some 3 years ago. That video was produced as part of a presentation I provided for IATA’s 2013 Conference in Seattle and received a lot of attention.

The feedback we received was that the technical information shown on the righthand side added an extra dimension for viewers. So we’ve produced another one using the same format to showcase our Sledge Movement System.

The video is introduced by Jerry Paluszek, Lead Principal Engineer at Boeing Company, and shows our sledge system being deployed to recover an aircraft that has suffered complete landing gear failure.

We designed the sledge system with a unique hinge that enables recovery across a wide range of terrain. This is demonstrated in the video, which shows the aircraft being hauled safely and securely across a concrete hard-standing area, a tarmac taxiway, and finally, across soft ground.
