AMS AIRCRAFT RECOVERY SYSTEMS

LOAD INDICATING DEVICES

In the past aircraft recovery operations have generally been conducted without critical data being recorded. This has been mainly due to the pressure the recovery team is under to successfully complete the recovery so that the airport can resume normal flight operations as quickly as possible.

In an ever-changing world, recordings of critical data now need to be documented. This is also a requirement within aircraft manufacturers recovery procedures as detailed in the relevant recovery manual.

AMS offer a comprehensive range of Load Indicating Devices, suitable for all aircraft recovery operations.

The range of AMS Load Indicating Devices covers 2½ to 200-ton capacities. All units are rugged weatherproof and come with options for different units, tonnes or Kn.

The standard unit offers the load reading on an LCD display panel mounted directly on the load device . This is a less expensive unit and can be used for the tethering of the aircraft.

AMS also offer a radio signal operated Load Indicating Device. This comes complete with a hand held unit with LCD display and a range of up to 100 meters. This makes sure that recovery personal are kept away from the aircraft during the hauling operation. Ranges of up to 300 meters can be achieved with the use of an optional external aerial.

Up to fifteen Load Indicating Devices can be displayed on one hand held unit, they can also be connected to a PC using the‘ Desktop Controller’ software package.
